Happy Birthday, America!

Happy 4th of July! Robby was very patriotic today, even with his jammies!

Tim had a family day on Friday, making it a 4 day weekend for him! It was wonderful for him to be off the extra day. One of Tim's friends from COT came down for the weekend. He has an incredibly interesting life story. I probably annoyed him by all the questions I asked him. Without going into too much detail, he is Russian, from Uzbekistan, and won a lottery to become a US citizen. After he was in the states for several months, he enlisted in the Air Force. He served in Iraq for 7 months, came back, did some other stuff in the AF, got his Master's degree, then was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. Anyway, he was actually stationed at Lackland several years ago. So, he actually was able to show us around and take us to some places we didn't know existed! We had such a great time with him! Robby loved to watch everything he did. It was so funny!

After Ildar left today we just relaxed and finished watching Band of Brothers. We started the series earlier this week. By the end, both of us had tears in our eyes and we agreed it was a great way celebrate our country today. It made us so proud of those who fought and fight for our country and reminded us that, as cliche as it is to say, freedom is not free.
