Morningtime

The mornings with Robby are my favorite! He usually wakes up to eat the first time sometime between 4-6, but goes right back to sleep when he's done. He wakes up for good between 7:30-8:30. I will hear him over the monitor talking and squealing to himself. I usually let him talk for a bit, then go to get him. As soon as I walk in and he sees me, he gets the biggest grin on his face. It just melts my heart every single time!

I change his diaper then take him into our room and put him on our bed. I let him squirm and roll and jabber. I love to see him in his sweet jammies!

Here are some pictures of him from the other morning

I tried to get a video of him doing his favorite thing right now: squealing! Of course once I turned on the camera he stopped doing it as much, but here is what I got! (I understand these videos are long and probably boring to everyone but me! :-)

Our Fun Monday!

This Monday we got up and got ready bright and early...

Because Robby and I were going to play with the little girl of a couple that Tim and I knew from JBU! They are down here for the summer while Cole is doing a law internship with the JAG program at Ft Sam Houston. A couple of weeks ago the Erin contacted me to see if I could watch Lyric for the day because she was going to be out of town an Cole would be working. Lyric is two years old, but you would swear that she was 6 by how articulate and intelligent she is!

When she got to our apartment, she put together 4 puzzles all by herself!

Then she helped me put Robby down for his first nap. While in Robby's room, she spotted the turtle pool floatie and said "Look at that big tortoise"! After the 3rd time of saying it, I asked her if she wanted to take it into the living room to play. She said yes, and that she wanted to take the stuffed "baby humpback whale", "monkey" and "armadillo" as well. I was just shocked she knew specifically what they were (well, Shamu is a killer whale, but most 2 year olds couldn't even say "humpback whale!). So we had school with all the animals.

She showed the turtle out the window.

Then she showed the turtle the mirror on Robby's exersaucer.

Then we bounced on our bed for a little while.

While Lyric bounced on the bed, Robby bounced in his Johnny Jump Up.

I think he enjoyed having someone besides his mommy to stare at all day!

After we had lunch, it was nap time.

When the day was almost over, we spent a little time with Dora the Explorer.

Before she left, she had to say goodbye to all the animals!

We had so much fun with Lyric! She was so easy to take care of that it wasn't really any work at all!

Robby ended the day with sitting on his own for the longest he ever had (about 45 second or so 6 times!!). He was so proud of himself!!

Sweet boy!

I thought the grandparents (and a few others) might like this video! I just thought he was so cute watching his mobile this afternoon so I started videoing him, then he saw me!

Enjoy!

Robby's trip to Cabela's!

Today, we drove about 45 miles north to Bula and went to Cabela's so Tim could buy a gun that he's been saving to be able to get. We started our morning with Robby sleeping until almost 9! It never fails, whenever we don't set our alarm "knowing" he will wake us up early, he sleeps late! It was fine with us, though. We got some Shipley kolaches and donuts on our way out of town and got there about 10:30. Tim was able to get his gun (we actually went last night but we didn't have any government documents with our current address so he couldn't buy the gun last night). Then we walked around and enjoyed everything. Tim told Robby all about the animals.

We had so much fun, it just wore out Robby!

We ate at the restaurant there then headed home. We stopped by the big outlet mall in San Marcos on our way home. Robby has outgrown all of his pajamas. The only few that fit him are fleece and far too hot for summertime down here. The Carter's outlet was having a great sale so Robby also got some new shirts!

We ended the day by having Kathy, Tim's sister, over for dinner and just relaxed the rest of the evening. It was a great and tiring day! Robby was so exhausted from our adventures, he went to bed at 6!! :-)

Daddy and Robby Time

Every afternoon when Tim gets home from work (as long as Robby isn't napping), the boys have some quality bonding time. Robby "tells" daddy all about his day. It's a sweet time for them and I am blessed to be able to witness it!

This makes a mommy happy!

Because having a baby who can feed himself a bottle means having a mommy who can get more done! :-)

5 years!

Tim and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on June 10th.  Some friends of ours kept Robby so we could go out to eat.  We went to Ruth's Chris in downtown San Antonio, thanks to a gift card!

5 months!

We've been very busy since the last post.  Every time I think I'm going to have a chance to post, something comes up.  Pictures from the last couple of months are going to be at the end of the post!

Robby,
You are 5 months old!  You are a very busy and active little boy.  No longer can I lay you in one place and get housework done.  You are rolling and scooting around.  I will put you on your play mat, look away, look back, and you are off the mat onto the rug.  We just can't take our eyes off of you (and I know this is only the beginning of that!).  You are talking so much.  You wake up in the morning talking to your animals on your mobile and you get so excited when I come in to get you.  You are eating rice cereal, pears, apples, bananas, peaches, sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, and green peas.  So far, everything has been a big hit!  You are already trying to get the spoon to feed yourself, thus making a gigantic mess!  We have started you on formula and you are taking it great.  You actually haven't had a single episode of gas or any negative side effect.  Thankfully, you are a very adaptable baby!

This is such an incredibly fun phase.  I don't know if I have ever met a happier baby (your cousin, Graham, is a very close second though!).  If you cry, there is a specific reason, and as long as we can figure it out and address it, you are happy as can be.  We have a pretty good night time routine  right now. Bath time is around 7 (Daddy always bathes you).  You LOVE bath time!  Splashing, squealing, and smiling always occur.  After your bath, Daddy gets you all ready for bed, rocks you for just a bit, then lays you down for the night.  You are doing really well (at bed time and nap time) laying down while you are still awake and putting yourself to sleep.  That has been a huge blessing because it has helped us really set a bedtime for you, as well as a rough nap schedule.  Nap time occurs anywhere, which is nice when we are running errands.  You took another plane trip.  We went to Arkansas to attend your second cousin Emily's wedding showers.  Almost everyone in the family got to see you.  You did great on all the legs of the trip.  I hadn't experienced changing your diaper on the plane until the very last flight.  You had THREE poopy diapers within 20 minutes.  It's a good thing I'm seasoned at changing diapers in my lap!

You have had several visitors over the last couple of months.  Aunt Mandy came and visited, as well as Uncle Willy and Aunt Darlene.  Then Uncle Dusty and Aunt Angela came!  Not to mention Grandpa Bill and Grandma Gloria!  You are quite the attraction down here.  :-)

Also, we just celebrated your Daddy's first Father's day!!  We started the day with breakfast in bed for him, then he opened his presents and we revealed the rest of the plans for the day: Sea World!  Daddy loves marine life, and since we could get in for free since he is active duty military, it was the perfect way to spend the day.  He told you all about the different sea life we saw.  You did so great and even napped in your stroller while we ate lunch and Daddy rode a roller coaster.

You are weighing in at 17 pounds and are wearing 6 month clothes!  You have definitely started packing on the weight since starting foods and formula.  You turn your head to us if we say your name.  You love to interact with everyone.  The other day, you stared at a woman who was sitting near us until she looked at you and smiled, then you gave her the biggest grin.  Your gorgeous blue eyes, blonde hair, and precious grin cause everyone who sees you to stop!  I absolutely adore being your mommy.  I love it when you snuggle up to me and how you completely light up when you see me!

We are so blessed to have you as our son.  We do not take a single day for granted because we know these precious days won't last for long.

I love you, little man!
Mommy
